“Amy is amazing! So thorough so compassionate, so effective!” - Beth H-H.

__________

After a 30+ year career in the corporate arena, I began seeing Amy to help me with pain and limited mobility in my neck which I believe had a lot to do with sitting in front of a computer for years.  My pain ratio was extremely high and had manifested to other areas of my body. I literally felt like I was on fire.

The first day I saw Amy, she handed me a chart and asked me to circle areas on the body where I was having trouble.  Needless to say, when I was done circling, it was overwhelming.  Amy was undaunted and methodically worked with me and others on my healthcare team to pinpoint the problem areas and come up with the right treatment approach.  Within weeks I was seeing a difference.

Fast forward and my pain is under control, I’m enjoying life and looking forward to the future.

It has been such a godsend to work with someone like Amy who can navigate western medical practices and translate those into a solution that treats the whole person. She is the perfect and unique combination of knowledgeable modern day healthcare provider and compassionate holistic healer who genuinely cares about her patients.”   - Heidi S.

“I cannot say enough about my positive experiences as a client of Medicine Within. I am a 70 (ish) woman with issues associated with arthritis, sciatica, pains in my feet, etc. When I first began to see Dr. Sedgwick, my sciatic pain was crippling. Thanks to her acupuncture treatments and her exercise and posture coaching, I am able to exercise daily on an elliptical, have lost 20 pounds, and can sit, bend, and squat without pain. Amy Sedgwick understands the human body from the perspective of a physician, as a practitioner of yoga, and as an expert acupuncturist and integrates all of this in her treatment approach. As a human being, she is compassionate, approachable and a natural and generous educator. I am very grateful to have found her practice.” - Eileen F

“I sought out Amy for help to address overwhelming stress and subsequent insomnia due to a parent's devastating cancer diagnosis and the potential hereditary ramifications to my health. It was reassuring to me that Amy has a medical degree and is a practicing physician in addition to her eastern medicine background, so she fully understood how to address and treat my issues. She combined medical acupuncture with exercises to do at home to cope with and alleviate stress (deep breathing, restorative yoga poses, sleep hygiene). Not only did I have great relief from the acupuncture, but I also felt empowered and proactive in my care with the daily exercises between sessions. I highly recommend Amy as she is knowledgeable, compassionate, non-judge mental, and is an invaluable resource for those seeking an alternative or compliment to allopathic care.”- Renee D

“My sessions with Amy were an essential complement to the medical care I received during a painful, protracted bout of sciatica. I am sure her care, concern and expertise contributed to addressing this painful condition and helping to resolve it. In other words, she is the best!” - C.T.

“Insightful, incredible diagnostician, compassionate, researcher, skilled practitioner, intellectually driven, caring, family-oriented, wholistic approach, eastern and western medicine working together, brilliant, caring, creative problem-solver, educator, life long learner, loves a challenge, lives with joy. These are only a few of the phrases I use to describe Amy Sedgwick. Her passion shines through in all that she does. I have been receiving acupuncture (and great thoughts on living) from Amy for the past several years. She has helped me through periods of extreme pain in my ankles, knees, and feet as a result of avascular necrosis and chronic regional pain syndrome. It is nothing short of a miracle to go from not walking to walking as a result of her willingness to do intense/concentrated acupuncture on me. In addition to pain relief, she is total health care focused and has worked on my general health and wellbeing. We are also working on facial rejuvenation through acupuncture, cupping, and gua sha. What fun! Thanks, Amy” - Kathryn M

“A medical provider heard my description of many issues including lower back pain that had not been helped by steroids. She recommended I see her friend, Amy Sedgwick. (As an ER doctor plus her education in Eastern medicine, Amy has the perfect combination of knowledge/skills to help her patients.)

The first time she did a treatment moving “qi” - involving my entire body. I felt better immediately and could move without pain – the ‘gray film’ was gone. The next few times she worked on my lower back. After several visits I felt much better, can move better and can get on with life activities.  The cost is inexpensive for the value of her help.

I am much better overall than I could have imagined. I still haven’t quite grasped how this concept works, but it does! I couldn’t be happier that I tried acupuncture with Amy Sedgwick. She does an excellent job. She really cares!  Thank you, Amy.” - Edie D

“I started receiving Acupuncture with Amy in March 2021. I was experiencing debilitating pain in my upper back, shoulder blades and neck. I was in pain for over a year. I was unable to lift grocery bags, unable to work out or even go for a walk for exercise. The pain disrupted my sleep and my day-to-day simple tasks. I had been diligent with having massage therapy every 3 weeks for years as well as physical therapy for 3 months prior to my 1st apt with Amy. These therapies left me with minimum relief that would only last a day or two. In fact, sometimes my pain would increase after having massage or physical therapy.

I went to Amy as a last resort prior to throwing in the towel and having surgery. I had had acupuncture previously and really was kind of indifferent about it. It wasn’t the cure-all in my past experiences. Amy’s focus was first, finding out in great detail not only where my pain was coming from but how I was sitting, standing, sleeping. Her intake process was much more detail-orientated than any other providers in the past. With no hesitation we got started. She explained what she was going to do and why. As she was treating me, she was again explaining what she was doing, how my nervous system would respond and how it was sending signals to my brain. She was continually asking ‘…are you doing ok, how do you feel, this shouldn’t hurt - if it does, let me know….’ So, fast -forward to completing my first session: I was pain free for FIVE days! Now you my not think that’s earth-shattering, yet for someone who was living in constant pain, IT IS!

I returned the next week so excited to finally be on the right path to recovery and living a pain free 24/7. The second treatment I had relief for 7-9 days, third treatment 11 days, 4th treatment, done.

Well with that incredible relief I couldn’t stop there. My next challenge was treating what I thought was tendinitis due to my work. My left hand would cramp up as if I had MS. So she started treating that. I received great results just like my previous treatments on my back. 4/5 treatments 1 time a week for a month… to every 2 months. I now see Amy one time a month for maintenance to treat my back, shoulder blades, neck and hand. I live virtually pain free. I’m no longer on a daily prescription for inflammation and pain and I no longer take three ibuprofen and Tylenol at the same time, four times a day.

My quality of life living pain free is priceless. I only wish I went to her sooner than later. I recommend Amy to any of my friends and clients who are experiencing pain.” - Michelle N

“I have had several healing sessions with Amy over the last few years. For me, she has mostly treated muscular/skeleton issues.

My first visit brought dramatic healing from acute life-stopping neck pain which made it impossible to turn my neck to the left except by raising my left arm and looking under it. Obviously, this was a serious restriction with regard to driving, among other functions in life. This condition had come on suddenly and been persisting for three weeks. I could not find a source of relief, but eventually was led to scheduling a one hour session with Amy. This session brought complete relief. Now, 3 years later, there has been no recurrence.
Subsequent sessions for other issues have shown me that Amy knows the body and how to balance and align it for peak pain-free performance. Plus further aiding and enhancing smooth movement through these challenging times we are all walking through. She is a wonderful, kind heart-ed, loving human being, full of life, with good instincts, and as I said, knows the body and how it functions and how to correct miss-functions." -
