Ujayi Breath with Simple Movement

Slowing our breath down and especially slowing the exhale can help us tap into our parasympathetic nervous system. It is when we are in this state of being we can rest, digest, relax and repair our bodies. When our parasympathetic tone is dominant, tissues relax, vessels are more pliable, our brain is more contemplative and we become more resilient. This is a very short simple practice that will teach you how to use a breath technique that will come in handy when you are feeling anxious, stressed, depleted, or just as a way to set a positive spin on your day. Props needed: yoga mat, two yoga blocks, +/- yoga chair.
